Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit imagelabeling.com, run the free demo, create an account or use an ImageLabeling workspace. Last updated October 19, 2026.

Who is responsible for your data

The controller of personal data is the administrator of the imagelabeling.com service. You can reach the administrator at [email protected] for any question about this policy or your personal data.

What data we collect

We collect only the data needed to run the service.

  • Account data: work email address, a hashed password, your role (team member or annotator) and the confirmation of your email address.
  • Billing data: the plan you choose, billing period, billing name and address and payment status. Card details are handled by the payment operator and are not stored by us.
  • Workspace content: images you upload, labels, label schemas, comments, dataset versions and exports. You control this content and we process it on your behalf.
  • Usage and technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, the source of your visit (such as a referring page or campaign parameters) and logs needed for security and troubleshooting.
  • Homepage demo uploads: the image you upload to the homepage demo and the labels produced for it.
  • Messages: emails you send to support and our replies.

Why we process your data and on what legal basis

  • To create and run your account and workspace, including AI pre-labeling, review and exports (performance of a contract).
  • To process payments and keep accounting records (performance of a contract and legal obligation).
  • To send service emails such as sign in codes, receipts and important notices (performance of a contract).
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix errors (legitimate interest).
  • To understand how the site is used in aggregate, without cookies and without advertising profiles (legitimate interest).
  • To answer your messages (legitimate interest or performance of a contract).

How images are processed

Images are processed only to produce labels for your dataset and to show them to members of your workspace. They are never used to train third party models, and we do not sell or share them for advertising.

Who receives your data

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run ImageLabeling, under contracts that limit their use of the data to our instructions.

  • Hosting provider that stores the website, workspaces and backups.
  • Payment operator that processes subscription payments.
  • Email delivery provider that sends sign in codes, receipts and service notices.
  • AI model provider that processes images only to produce labels and does not use them to train its models.

We may also disclose data when the law requires it. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising.

International transfers

Some providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where the GDPR applies, transfers rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

Cookies and analytics

We use only essential cookies: a session cookie, a CSRF token and preference cookies such as your billing period choice. We do not use advertising pixels or tracking cookies, and our analytics work without cookies. Details are in the cookie policy.

How long we keep data

  • Homepage demo uploads and their labels are deleted after 24 hours.
  • Account and workspace data are kept while your subscription is active. After it ends, workspace content is kept for a limited period so you can export it, and is then deleted.
  • You can delete images and projects at any time, and you can ask us to delete your whole workspace.
  • Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require.
  • Security logs are kept for a short period and then deleted or anonymized.
  • Signups that never confirm their email address are deleted after a reasonable period.

Your rights under the GDPR

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Your rights under the CCPA

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to request its deletion, to correct it and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.

How to use your rights

Email [email protected] from the address linked to your account. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on a request, and we answer within the time the law requires. If your workspace belongs to an organization, some requests about workspace content may need to go through the workspace owner.

Security of your data

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access follows roles and project permissions, and sensitive operations are logged. More details are on data security for image labeling.

Children

ImageLabeling is a business service and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we notify account holders by email about material changes. The rules for using the service are in the terms of service and the refund policy.
